Wendy Leigh White (ND, MS)

Bio
Dr. White became a naturopathic doctor because she truly believes in the body’s ability to heal itself and to keep itself in balance. She sees patients of all ages at Portland Natural Medicine, teaches as an adjunct faculty member at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), and hosts a radio show, Tune in to Your Body.
At Portland Natural Medicine, although she sees men, women, and kids of all ages with any ailments or for wellness, she especially enjoys seeing women who would like to prepare to be pregnant in the next year or so (increase nutrition, decrease toxicity, balance hormones) and people who are struggling with allergies or gastrointestinal issues. Often, patients have come to her as a last chance; she wants everyone to know that there is always hope, that there are always things to be done to increase health and well-being! Her practice aligns strongly with the idea that food is medicine. In addition to individualized, whole-food nutrition, other tools used include homeopathy, lifestyle recommendations, and botanical medicines.
At NUNM, she is teaching “Environment & Health” in the School of Undergraduate Studies and “Psychology of Eating” within the School or Research & Graduate Studies and hopes to be more active as the years progress. After two years on air at WPKN in Connecticut, Dr. White hopes to air her radio show from Portland (via KBOO).
In addition to her naturopathic degree, Dr. White holds an MS in human nutrition (University of Bridgeport) and an MS in food science (NC State University). To fulfill her ongoing need to be a student, she has attended the New England School of Homeopathy and is held as a Master in the Institute for Human Individuality. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Connecticut Northeast Organic Farming Association, and the National Center for Homeopathy.
To respect the need for balance in life, her personal passions lie in being a mom to Alex, a wife to Pete, and a pet-mom to their Golden Retriever-Saluki mix, Casey (who rescued whom?). She also loves to read fiction (the Outlander series has been the favorite for years!) and sing (soprano) with a women’s chorus in CT and a yet-to-be-discovered chorus in Portland.
