Dr. Keira Barr is a dual board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist with an entrepreneurial spirit. She is the founder and CEO of Ketzel Design, LLC., an apparel company creating sun protective clothing for everyday wear. She is also the co-founder and President of Aegis Consulting Group, LLC.,which provides domain expertise in medical disciplines across broad applications including healthcare, biotechnology, and personal care spaces. Prior to launching Ketzel and Aegis, Keira was on the faculty at the University of California-Davis, School of Medicine in the dermatology and pathology departments as an expert in skin cancer and melanoma. During her tenure, she developed educational programs for sun safety and skin cancer prevention that were delivered at the local, regional and national levels including programs performed in conjunction with Womens’ Dermatologic Society and the California Department of Public Health Skin Cancer Advisory Board. She holds numerous leadership roles in national as well as international societies such as the American Academy of Dermatology and Women’s Dermatologic Society. Dr. Barr is internationally recognized for her creative research and has numerous peer reviewed publications. Her professional experiences, combined with those as a patient herself, have resulted in an undeniable passion for sun safety and skin cancer education. These qualities drive her mission to promote a cultural shift in the way society views their time in the sun.
