Alexa is a first year Physician Assistant student at The University of California Davis, expected to graduate in September 2019. She graduated from The University of California, Santa Cruz with degree in Neuroscience. Prior to PA school, she worked as a medical assistant in a dermatology office, where she found her passion for dermatology. During her spare time, she volunteers as an Officer at a student run clinic in Sacramento dedicated to serving the Filipino underserved population, where she is responsible for the Dermatology Clinic. Through managing patients with chronic disorders, she found an interest in the skin manifestations in response to internal imbalances. After PA school, she plans to work in dermatology with a focus of moving beyond symptom management, and towards a state of health and well-being. She believes that by empowering her patients to be proactive participants in their care and make healthy choices in their everyday lives, they can achieve overall wellness and healthy skin.
